"I have been sampling all of the "classic" avon fragrances because I find them to be comforting smells. This is by far the worst that I have tried so far. I was mesmerized by how bad this smells. I can tell that this is a reinvented version and, like the other reviewers stated, it probably smelled much better before it was changed. This one is going to the linen spray shelf...I will not be wearing it!"

"I love this cologne and was so upset when Avon deleted it from their line. How dare they delete something that everyone seems to like. I get stopped in the stores and asked what cologne I am wearing. Men ask me all the time and want to know where to get it for their wives or girlfriends. I hope it was not brought back for a limited time. I have been buying mine online where ever I can find it. And I am now down to my last 9 bottles so its time to start buying more just in case."

I was thrilled to see that the Mesmerize was back and never dreamed that the formula had been changed. My mother and I both loved the original mildly sweet, powdery fragrance. This new Mesmerize scent is awful. The smell reminds me of a cooking spice such as Chili Powder, is very dry, and does not last. I am very disappointed. For all former lovers of Mesmerize, DO NOT ORDER THIS, IT IS NOT THE SAME!"

"I don't know what the excitment is about over this fragrance. I use to love mesmerize in the 90's, it was my favorite avon fragrance. When they re-introduced mesmerize I was very excited and decided to purchase four bottles, which I gave away. I have to admit I was very, very displeased with the smell, this is not the original mesmerize. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!"
