"I just got my kit and I was worried when it first came that it would be too dark for me, because I'm so pale and it looked really dark in the container. Of course upon putting it on it was the perfect set or shades for my skin. Mineral make up is also the only kind of make up I can ware because my skin seems to react to everything! I'm so lucky to find such quality stuff at such a low price."

"For years I suffered with rosacea and always had red, sore-looking bumps on my cheeks. My dermatologist recommended several products that didn't work and even put me on an antibiotic that proved unsuccessful. The Smooth Minerals makeup and the liiv botanicals (under "Wellness" on this site) line proved to be my answer. Now I get the compliments I used to get before my rosacea made its debut. "I have rosacea and have been a faithful "other" minerals customer for over two years. I have been very pleased because of the results on my VERY sensitive skin. No breakouts or reactions. I took a chance on this kit and after a week have been very pleasantly surprised. It covers as well or better. I like the translucent glow better than the "veil" (not as white) and the medium "Pure" was a good match for me. It's a great value and so far, just as good or better than the other.
I would suggest trying better brushes for those having problems putting the makeup on. Also, I find if you tip the container upside down, tap it a couple of times, tip it back over and THEN open it, there's less mess. There's usually enough in the lid and sifter for my use."

"Makeup goes on great and looks wonderful. I have tried the expensive brand before and it itched. There is no itching with the Avon brand.
There are only 2 minor things that I don't like. The kabuki brush sheds all over and is very cheap. I started to use a different brush and it works great.
If you get too much on when you are layering it, it will come off on anything your face touches - like other people's clothes when you hug them."

"I have tried mineral products before and they always ended up looking super cakey or powdery on me so I've stuck with liquid foundation most of my life. After looking at the catalogs and reading the reviews, I decided to try a mineral makeup one more time and I have to admit, I absolutely love this kit! I honestly get excited to put on my makeup in the mornings because my skin looks like a masterpiece when I'm done :) The foundation is super light weight but has great coverage at the same time and lasts all day. Also, I'm a sparkle nut so the blush is my very favorite. It has the perfect amount of shimmery pink, which I love! I'm also huge fan of the transparent glow because it gives you that perfect, iridescent, flawless glow. My skin is more of a medium tone, but both colors in the light kit work perfect for me. I'm definitely a fan of these products and I'm totally sticking to this foundation set."

"I had high hopes and was really excited when I ordered this. I tried it the first time and was disappointed. I didn't even use much of the product but it make my face look very powdery! I figured I would give it a second chance, but it didn't do anything. I have pretty decent skin in general and this seemed to make it worse. I was hoping for the "flawless, no make-up" look....i didn't get either. :("

"I've sampled the expensive brands and this one is at least as good. I even like it better than the 'discount' mineral makeup you can pick up at the discount stores.
I just don't believe the hype for the "infomercial' stuff and lucky for me Avon is often very quick to pick up on a trend like mineral makeup and offer an affordable line.
Saves me money. I can appreciate that Avon.
I have the kit in medium. My avon lady helped me pick the color since I tend to have a tan year round here in Florida. I might have to get the 'light" kit at wintertime.
The darker foundation color is too dark to use as an allover 'foundation' but on my complexion it's PERFECT for a Contour.
I still like Avon's foundations and still needed to use a dab to hide my dark circles.
So, unless your skin is nearly perfect, you still might need a little conceler. And, that is why I only gave it 4 stars. Otherwise, I think this is an awesome product.
This is a great introduction to 'mineral makeup'. And you don't have to break your bank!"

"I LOVE LOVE LOVE smooth minerals! I have tried other mineral products and was disapointed but this one delivers. The blush that comes with the light kit is the most beautiful and flattering rose color I have ever used on my skin. Too pink or too brown is a big no-no with my light olive colored skin. Very impressed! I'm tempted to buy a second kit just for the value so I have more when I run out!"

"I bought the starter kit about a month ago and the 1st time I used it the brush strands were coming out all over the place. I've noticed as I use the brush more it sheds less, but it still sheds a little. This takes use to putting on so I'm still a little slow compared to my old make up routine. The instructions should have included how to get the power out easily, I still make a mess. Some days I notice this settles into my fine lines but it might be that I'm doing something wrong. I do like that it feels lightweight when you have it on but I don't notice that it lasts any longer than other makeups I've tried."

"I really love this product!!! It is very easy to apply and stays on for a long time (~8 hours). You can layer the product to get the coverage needed and looks way better than any liquid foundation I have ever used. One advantage to this being a powder is that you don't have any tugging on the skin, like traditional foundation. I have been told that my face looks like a beautiful porcelain doll. I have received so many complements. I have tried a lot of different makeups, and will never have to try another one...I have found my makeup for life!!!"

"I've never in my entire life used any kind of mineral makeup. Wanted to give it a try cause I heard its for sensitive and acne prone skin. My skin is slightly sensitive and I break out a lil bit. I got the medium kit and the foundation covers most of my scars and pimple. And it feels so light like theres nothing there! Yes it is quite messy like the other reviews have mentioned but eh its no big deal. And the kabuki brush does tend to shed few hairs but overall its not a horrible brush. The blush is a lil bit too light for my skin. It doesnt really show that much no matter how much I put. I need a darker shade like the plum one. Other than that its a great starter kit. And for the price? I mean who could go wrong wit that? Save money gettin this other than those high end brands and it probably works jus as good or even better (I wouldnt know cause I havent tried out any other brand mineral makeup)I'd definitely recommend it to anyone though."
