"I read a lot of the other reviews before deciding to write one. I started using this product way back in 1997 when it came out. I was an Avon rep at the time and went to a class about skincare. The facts impressed me, not the marketing. I wish more Avon reps would take skincare classes (if they are still offered) because it helps to know which products to recommend and which to pair together.
You really need a skin care regimin, and don't hop around testing out new products - use up the product or at least go for 30 days, whichever is sooner.
You first need the correct cleanser for your skin type. If you have oily skin you may need to follow that with a toner. When your skin is clean, apply any treatments (such as the Vitamin C serum that I love), THEN your moisturizer. I use the Luminosity as a treatment/moisturizer and do not use any other moisturizer.
For those who have said Luminosity is too heavey/greasy, my opinion is that you are using too much. A little dab will spread and spread and spread, so start by dotting this product across your face on your "problem" areas, then blend it into your skin.
I also learned that you should let your skin absorb the product before applying your makeup. I brush my teeth after I apply it - that seems to be the perfect amount of time.
You can definitely use this product at night (and I highly recommend it) and I love that you can use it on your eyes. There are very few products that can be used on the delicate eye skin.
Ladies, try this product on your hands. You just need a tiny bit on the back of each hand and rub it in completely. The difference in your hand skin is immediately amazing and over time, brilliant!
I definitely recommend this product to women with normal, combination, and somewhat dry skin. I would not use it on a person with oily skin or extremely dry skin (not for someone with eczema or rosacea). For those with dry skin, you may need another moisturizer at night. In that case, I would still use the luminosity during the day.
I've been using this product for 12 years now (or however long it's been on the market!) and I never use foundation. I just don't need it. Part of that is genes, part of it is my religous use of sunscreen, but after having 4 kids and passing 30, I have to give a lot of credit to my Avon skincare products."

"This is absolutely my favorite product from Avon's Anew line. I like the creamy texture which I put on my face sparingly and the scent is great too. I've had people compliment my fragrance and I wasn't wearing any and I realized it was this cream. My face has been covered in freckles since childhood and am always looking for new products that help fade or diminish their appearance.This product does that and brightens my complexion. I have used this since I was about 21 years old. about 10 years now! I discovered it's effectiveness when I was using the product consistently for 2 weeks in California sun and then I stopped after returning to NY. So I noticed the difference in how it protected my skin from further sun damage, brightened my skin and faded my freckles. Now I use it every morning before I go out in the sun, even on a cloudy day. I love this product. It's the reason I come back to Avon."

"Okay, I have this product and I am seeing some of the fading of dark spots but not any brightening yet. I've been using this for about one week so im going to give it more time, then come back and review again. This is pretty thick and kinda greasy feeling so I suggest that if you dont like that type of consistency then try the Avon banishing cream and see how that works out . Giving it 4 stars because it is too thick and greasy for me since I already have combo skin. Also I would suggest that you use anyother moisturizer or whatever regimen you use in conjunction with this sparingly because your face will just seem heavy with creams since this is a thicker cream."

"It didn't lighten my dark circles and age spots as much as I hoped but those areas may just need more time. However, it did make my face look and feel instantly smoother the first time I used it. Within a couple of weeks, my skin was glowing and more radiant than it's ever been before. The scent is very nice & it has a velvety soft texture that makes your skin feel like silk and the SPF is a big plus! Wish they made it in a bigger size jar but fortunately a little goes a long way. Mine lasted about a month!This is now one of my favorite moisturizers from Avon. Definitely a keeper!"

"Like my other reviews for anew products, they just don't work for me. I used this on my face for about a month and didn't fade my dark acne spots even a tad. It is however good for a regular moisturizer and it wasn't drying for me. I also tried it on my back cos i have a few spots there as well and no difference there either. So the promises or flawless skin wasn't fulfilled in my case. Would not re purchase. I also didnt use any other SPF products like they suggested, not even my foundation."

"My face has freckles, dark spots, and pimple discolorations. These problems started with pregnancy hormonal changes and sun. I have been using this brightener for 2 weeks now and I can notice visible changes. Freckles on nose and under eyes have lightened to light brown, the dark spots are almost dissappearing, and pimple discolorations are fading out . I feel more confident going out. The trick is to wear no other SPF product with this brightener. I wear it twice, in the morning and night."

"As with other's, I have tried them all! I so much wanted it to work, but it has not. As suggedsted by a reviewer, I have used it with no other SPF product's and still nothing. The lightest of my sun spot's have not faded at all, even though I have used the product religiously. My skin is no better or worse than any one else's, so there is no reason for the poor result's. Apparently other's have had better result's so it might be worth a try, but don't be disappointed if it does not happen."

"This product does exactly what it says - although I've given up sunbathing 15 years ago, the sun damage (blotchiness, spots, and uneven tone) has persisted. This has been the only product of so many I've tried that works. I've been using it for about 2-2 1/2 months and my skin tone has improved and the spots are fading. I use lots less concealer and feel much more comfortable with a lighter coverage makeup. Well worth the price!!!"

"This is a wonderful product and does exactly what it says in time interval. Please review the warnings and instructions before applying. Some people this product does not work because they are mixing it with other things like makeup, lotions, etc. that have SPF 15 in them. The warning clearly states dont use product with other products that contain SPF and thats why they have issues. This product works i recommned it to anyone and try staying off greasy foods to improve skin and dark drinks."

"I purchased this product to deal with one 'age spot" on my cheek. After using the product as directed for over a month I have seen no result. And in fact, another age spot seems to be appearing on my temple. I am "only" 49 not 109. It is a nice moisturizer, but that is about it no "miracle' product."

"I used this product, and the very first use I could tell that several of my acne scars were fading! I was completely pleased! However, it made my face feel very oily and I had a couple of new blemishes because of this product. So, while it does work, I had to quit using it. I figured since even though it was a really powerful cream that does indeed fade marks on the skin, the bad kinda out-weighed the good here since it is too oily for my combination skin. I do reccommend this product to those people that have have dry to normal skin. I'm sure it would work wonders!!"

"This is my second favorite Avon Product. It works. I had a "sunspot" on my upper cheek, left side. Probably due to sun coming through the window while driving. After using Luminosity for a few weeks, it was gone. I'm working on a new spot now and notice it too is fading. This cream is light and easily absorbed into the skin. No breakouts. Nice to have an SPF as well. Great for undereye area before applying concealer as it keeps it from caking and helps with undereye darkness. Would have given it 5 stars but for price. It is only 1 oz. as compared to most of the Avon creams at 1.7 oz. I stock up when it is on sale."
