"I read about Avon hair color in a magazine as "best buy" so I decided to give it a try. Usually after coloring and rinsing off my hair some color will come off my towel, but there was NO color on my towel after I used this product. Does it mean all the color stay in my hair? The color is very nice too. Not harsh. I am very pleased. I am waiting to see how long this color will last."

"Based on the reviews of this I decided to try it out myself. I have tried many hair colors and I think this is my new favorite. I really like the consistency of the color. It is just thick enough as to not drip but thin enough to spread evenly. I also really like the pre and post treatment process. No other hair color that I have tried has a pre-treatment process. The post treatment conditioner is great. It left my hair soft but not weighed down. The color turned out great! I will continue to buy Avon's color and forget about the other brands out there. Plus the price is so much better than other major brands. I am hooked."

"I tried Avon's hair color based on the reviews and they are right on. The pretreatment cream has a wonderful smell. I used the medium brown and it is true to color. This hair color is not brassy and colored greys very well. I will buy again."

"I LOVE THIS PRODUCT - and also hope AVON WILL KEEP SELLING IT!!!!! It colors my grey REALLY well, it makes my hair soft & Shiny and lasts & lasts. Seems to last even longer when I faithfully used the ADVANCE TECHNIQUES Color Protection Anti-Fade UV Spray after each washing. I'm a dark brunette and I've used the True Red (which was really fun if you want to be a little bolder---even got a couple compliments from strangers--and I never get that!!!), also I used Medium Mahagony Brown (if you are in the mood to go towards the purple spectrum this was really gorgeous), and I tried Dark Reddish Blonde. You can't go wrong with this product - SO TRY IT !! !! !!"

"I read a review in Real Simple Magazine that this product was the best at covering gray hair. I followed instructions and left it on even longer. My roots were not covered as I had hoped. Looked more like a tint of color on the gray roots, I could definitely still see them. I'm convinced that the only way to keep the grays away is going to salons and spending a major amount of money."

My Avon Hair Color experience

"It is currently 02:00pm on 02/22/13 and I have just finished coloring my hair with Avon's Advance Techniques 5.3 Medium Golden Brown. The pre-treatment was very nice and moisturizing. Definitely read all instructions before applying. Then I applied the hair color treatment. After reading some of the negative reviews of this color treatment about skin being dyed, while I was waiting the 30 minutes for the hair color sit in my hair, I made sure to get an old towel and damp it and lightly scrub any areas of my skin that appeared to have hair dye on it. The color came off my skin fairly easy. Some parts I had to scrub a bit harder than others but as long as you do this before the 30 minutes is up, you should not have a problem of your skin being dyed. Then I rinsed out the hair color and put in the post treatment and let that sit for the 2 minutes required. I loved the texture of the post treatment and then after rinsing it off, my hair felt amazing! I have extremely dry and brittle hair that is also sensitive so for my hair to feel like this is amazing! I am currently waiting for my hair to dry now to see how the color looks and will update this comment while I wait. I have applied Avon's Advanced Techniques 360 Nourish while my hair air-dries so we will see how it looks.

"I used to dye more hair when I was younger but hated how brassy red my hair would turn before the 6 weeks, Now that my hair is an abundance of gray hair, I was dreading the brassy hair again. I tried a salon twice and another brand and the brassy returned. When I tried Avon's hair color, no brassy at all. I have gone past 6 weeks and the grey hair has returned. I am buying extra to keep on hand! Love this product."

"IM 76 y/o been using color for maybe 20 years, this is the best hiar color I have ever used. Get complaiments on how my hair shines,, even weeks after coloring. "This was my first time trying Avon's hair coloring and I couldn't be more pleased. It didn't irritate my skin in the least and the color came out beautiful. "I purchased the 6.0 Light Brown. The color is right on. There were no green ashen or red highlights. This is a true brown in my opinion. This was easy to apply. The after-conditioner leaves my hair shiny and soft. I will purchase again."

"I am 41 years old and have been coloring my hair since I was in my early 20's. When I was younger I colored my hair with highlights and had them professionally applied but by the time I was in my early 30's I had a lot of grey hair and it was too expensive for me to get my hair colored and highlighted every month to cover the grey. I have used a variety of home hair color products and I can honestly say that this is one of the best out there. I always use conditioner and shampoo made for color treated hair to keep my hair soft and my hair color vibrant. This hair color is beautiful and I have never had any trouble with the product drying out my hair. I love the pre-treatment and the color gives amazing shine. I will say it is a little runnier than some thicker products but it is worth it to keep my hair more conditioned. Some of the creamier products tend to dry my hair out more. I also do have trouble with some hair color staining my forehead but I love another reviewers recommendation to use petroleum jelly to prevent that. I use the medium reddish brown on my dark brown hair and it is beautiful. It adds the perfect amount of natural looking red. I am on my 10th box of the product and don't plan on ever using another brand again. Great job Avon!"

"I used 6.3 (Light Golden Brown) over the summer and I didn't have any complaints. But in the fall, I switched to Light Ash Brown and it doesn't cover my gray at all. The 2nd time I used it, it seemed to cover better, but it didn't stay long. I have a gray patch and within days, it's like I didn't color it at all. I bought several boxes so I'm going to use them up, but I don't think I'll buy anymore of it. If the Light Golden Brown was the right color, I'd just keep using it, but I try to use color closest to my real hair color so it's not quite as obvious that I need a touch-up."

"I decided to try this brand hair color after trying just about every drug store brand out there. I am in my mid-30s and I've had gray hairs since my late 20s (heridetary). It's embarrassing! I bought the Advance Techniques Hair Color in the Natural Black and I was happy with the results. It doesn't smell like peroxide or made my eyes water or made my scalp burn. It actually worked! I will continue to use it. Great job, Avon!"
